So I just got back from vacation earlier this week.
I drove up to Lyndonville, Vermont to go camping. It took 15 1/2 hours to get there. Then at 4:30am a huge thunderstorm. I woke up at 6:00am and went for a 2 hour ride around Lake Willoughby. About halfway through, another huge thunderstorm. When I got back to my campsite my tent had been blown into a tree. I went to the office and the owner told me that the storms were expected to last al week.
So, I packed up and headed for Sandy Hook beach in Jersey. It was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful clear skies, the water water clear enogh I could see crabs crawling in water up to my chest. I spent the whole day at the beach, swimming, reading, playing volleyball, talking to the other weekday beach goers.
Did anyone notice I didn't list applying sunblock? The further drove, the more difficult it became to sit still and the hotter it got in the truck. I got home with second degree burns all over my back. It took four days before I could even lean back in a chair.
I really loved getting away for a few days, but apparently I should never go alone. Because I lose all my stuff in a tree, then set myself on fire.
I think I'm going to go back to the beach again next week. Everyone got that? Sandy Hook beach, August 28th, Noonish, you bring the sunblock, I'll bring the beer. I know you have to work, call in sick, or quit. Money? Who needs money?
