Bye SG land. I decided not to renew, as I will be living at my cabin and really won't have access very often. Then it is off to Ghana for fieldwork. I will probably keep my Myspace page updated occasionally. Maybe one day I will come back.

Before you go-- what was the name of the author who did an ethnography of a mental health setting and then psychoanalyzed it? What I scribbled down doesn't seem to be right.

And good luck!

I'm pretty excited. I just had an article accepted for publication in the journal "Transcultural Psychiatry." I'm making time to have a few beers tonight.

Back from my travels to D.C., London, and Ghana. It was a good, but exhausting trip. Maybe I'll post some photos later.

I am a slacker. The past few months have been so busy that SG world and socializing has been neglected, unfortunately. I am off to London then Africa next week (for a month) to set up my fieldwork which will commence in September if my funding works out.

I had a professor, who is a control freak, go nuts on me this week after I...

I have to write two letters of recommendation for a student that I hardly know. The only material I have is that he was a good student and a pretty cool guy. I'll have to come up with some flattering metaphors that will, of course, seem very obvious that I had to pull them out of my ass.
felicia_____:
He's a really great old guy.

I just caught the last part of the lunar eclipse that occured this morning.

There is some sort of, dare I say, "universial," sense of awe when us humans view eclipses. I often wonder if the same feeling I have when viewing an eclipse is the feeling that my ancestors from long ago experienced.
mthrsuperior:
No my job is all good.
It isn't bothering me at all.
I try and look up bizzare medical data so I can learn.
If anything I worry I'm becoming desensitised.

Things sure are different around here these days. Much has changed since I decided to come back.

For one, I am a believer that if you increase the number of widgets in circulation, the value and quality of the widget will decrease. I am sure you all catch my point here. Quantity is not quality.

i concur... lets pool our collective loathing. look me up on myspace i'm noodle in normal il. at first myspace seemed a little wierd, maybe i felt guilty, but i really like it now.
