Just got home from a week long trip to Maryland for a convention and visit. The convention was Horrorfind, a horror convention focused mostly on media and movies; not so muhc on books. I had fun, and I saw a lot of old friends, but it's not really worth going back to again, business-wise. Made some good connections, but lousy sales. There were only two book dealers in the dealer's room, and not a lot of people were buying books. Ah well.
Besides the con, I got to visit with a bunch of old friends who I haven't seen in a year and a half (including my ex-wife and her new husband; had a good visit, and we're actully friends now). That was a blast. I miss my friends a lot, but I love living in Chicago too. well, you can't have everything!
Now I get to catch up on things at home again: two new book releases to deal with, some things to take care of for school in the fall, and a few other things. Glad I had a break!

Maryland is always lovely in the summer.
