just finished mixing my first full tv show! i've done alot of premixing and stuff in the past, but this is the first time i've done it all on my lonesome. firdays nights on sbs, 7:30 nerd FC. it's a damn funny realitty show, i really dig it. how i get from here to hollywood i can't quite work out.
the wondeful geeks and nerds they've managed to get are hilarious and very similar to many friends of mine. and maybe me.
broke another digital camera, so no more photos, only words for awhile, which is cool coz that's what it's all about,
the gossip:
managed a snog on sunday evening after tropfest. tropfest calls itself the biggest short film festival in the world, i call it lots of people sitting the domain watching generally fairly shit short films (i'm bitter, i didn't work on a film that made it this year), drinking cheap white wine, hurling abuse at john polson and generally having an awesome time. except this year it rained in a serious, serious fashion
and that was when the fun really began. everyone was drenched, and most of the 20,000 people still left had to walk through town in the same direction, down martin place, and it was hilarious. one of those moments which you take drugs to recreate, everyone losing their inhibitions and talking, singing playing and drinking like a bunch of 5 year olds floating leaves down the gutter. there were people sitting in the main fountain drinking champagne, crowds of people breaking out in song and me walking through it all cursing my broken camera with my arm around a cute friend of my flatmate's girlfriend.
intial impressions are that she's not my type of girl at all. tall. blonde. straight. accountancy lecturer. but intial impressions can be wrong, we'll see. and she is quite hot. so far i have stumbled my way through two phone calls and we have tentative plans to meet on sunday. god i suck at the phone call, i always manage to say something stupid.
i preferred the crazy girl from the weekend before, but i'm not sure if i can ring her up, been too long.... nothing to lose i suppose..... but it's all getting me out there and stopping me thinking about my ex, so whether anything comes of it or not, it's already a good thing.

Apparently they are getting "the sound lab" to do their thing on the film.
