Well, I am feeling ignored and heartbroken.
Monday was the last day I worked and my dream girl from Camille La Vie worked and was spotted at the food court TWICE by co-workers on break but did not walk past my store... and the escalators by her store were broken so then it actually made SENSE for her to walk past my store... did I already say this in my last entry?
Ah, well.
I guess I gave her waaaaay too much credence and thought, due to, what I assumed, were comparable lifestyles and aesthetics that we would click... whatever.
Wonder if I should take her off my "Current Crush" list... Naw!
I just hope she doesn't think I'm a creep or that what I did was stalkerish... Just thought I was being friendly- walking into the lion's den and introducing myself after weeks of sneeking peeks at one another as she walks by my store...
Well, the Pro-Pain show WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got to Chicago in no time at all (4 hours, not including the hour and a half I sat in rush hour getting into the Windy City).
Then I found the venue easily enough.
Went and got pizza in Lincoln Park at a small little pizza joint where I ate hella good pizza break...
Then found a parking spot near the venue and sat reading my Philip K. Dick book until around 9pm.
Got in the venue and one half of it is a classy sports bar (if there is such a thing) and the other half is actually a pretty professional, stylish, clean and nice club...
I got there just as Pro-Pain took the stage, got right up front, rocked the fuck out, took some digital pics (post those later) and nabbed the set list after the show (yeah, I'm a dork).
Ah, the ENERGY WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
The show was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!
It was SOOOOOO refreshing to see these guys again since I haven't seen them since 1999.
My only complaint was that their set wasn't long enough or inclusive enough (they only got to play for an hour).
But they did hit all their albums, and did a lot of stuff of SHREDS OF DIGNITY and FISTFUL OF HATE.
Though I really wanna hear like 2/3 of FISTFUL, and a LOT of shit off CONTENTS and TRUTH HURTS.
But they DID play "Life's Hard" off their self-titled, and I rocked out HARD to that shit... Finally, a show, after which, my neck hurt.
Crowbar took the stage and played a GREAT show!
Much better than when I saw them with Skinlab and S.O.D. in 1999.
They played some new stuff and it sounded SENSATIONAL!
After them I left and hit the road and guzzled two Amps and was home at my apartment in St. Louis by 4am.
And my iPod, although it registered that it had no battery left, still lasted me the WHOLE drive up to Chicago, driving around and half the drive home...
Then Weds. I spent the day at the library, researching, checking out CDs and just chillin'...
My buddy John bitched out on the Social D show, which was OK cuz I was hella tired and thought I was running low on $.
We agreed to meet for drinks and he bitched on that, too and I can only imagine it was because he fell asleep.
Whateva!
So I stayed home, read some and then FINISHED MY FUCKING FOURTH SCREENPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is 112 pages long (roughly almost a two hour movie) and is some of my best work.
I can't wait to work on some more spoken word CDs and then start on my 3rd novel.
Progress is exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow is payday!
Last night, to celebrate finishing my 4th script, I sparked a bowl of Opium and Kind Bud and watched this movie called GHOST IN THE MACHINE from the mid-90's.
It was cool, man!
Kinda LAWNMOWERMAN-ish.
Parts of it were hella dated and corny, but other parts of it were stylish and cool and just damn entertaining... nice FX, too and some cool gore and death sequences.
I especially like the funeral nightmare with the burnt body... nice!
Well, I guess I better get to work... we're watching TAXI at the store and, motherFUCKER, it is a bad movie!
Tonight I see a Mama Lucia's Pizza, booze and Philip K. Dick and W.S. Burroughs in my future... but no goth girl from Camille La Vie!
I gotta stop obsessing over this... I made my move, it's her turn! If she hates me, then so be it. If she likes me back but is too chicken shit to do anything about it then perhaps I'm better off anyhow...
