Hey lovely ladies and gents , I wanted to type up a blog regarding my career and passion.. I specialize in holistic skincare and use to suffer from cystic acne, I have a few regiments I suggest to clients with any acne issues. So for starting off, there's tons and tons of reasons why we breakout but two of the greatest ones would be
1. Hormones because let's be honest when are they balanced lol, they have a mind of their own. We eat hormones that are added into our food on top of that causing more chaos inside of us and that directly effects your skin, hair, emotions ect. ( dairy products for the main being)
2. Bad bacteria, we have natural necessary bacteria on our skin that feeds off of our sebum, it's healthy and required for balance. The issue comes in when we over stimulate or strip the skin. So by over doing facials and using a regiment at home that is too abrasive with ingredients such as salicylic acid, retinol, benzoyl peroxide and others it strips the skin of sebum so the good bacteria has nothing to feed on. With that the bacteria then dives deep into the skin to find other food sources and creates irratations, inflammation and blockage in the skins layers. Then the good bacteria turns into a bad thing.
So what I suggest, highly suggest, is a holistic natural approach before turning towards harsh chemicals, peels, pills ect..
Go to any natural Food store or health store and get a big jar of organic unfiltered raw honey, it's the honey that's super thick you have to scoop it out of the jar, and because it's unfiltered it has a bunch of tiny natural particles in it. Honey as you know is a major antibacterial, anti inflammatory, and packed with antioxidants. Raw honey can act as your facial cleanser , exfoliator and mask.
Apply it to a dry face and rub all over the face you can then do small circular motions, because of the particals in the honey you should be very gentle around your cheeks. Then let the honey sit for 10-20 mins and remove with warm water. You can apply it just as a face wash for the whole week and can use it as a exfoliator twice in the week, but I always suggest letting it sit on the face for at least 5 mins.
As for moisturizer/serums I suggest calendula oil, calendula is one of the greatest healing herbs for skin. That might be harder to find but a simple google search should help you find it in your area. Calendula helps immensely with inflammation, and irritations. It's the best promoter of healing, extremely so with scaring. And of course coconut oil for inflammation and scaring. With both of these oils a little goes a long way. Now I know most get nervous with the idea of putting oil on their faces but I assure you oil is key to a healthy skin balance.
As for spot treatments good old tea tree does the job :)
And don't forget your sunscreen always.
Much love Oceana 💙💗
