i'm back
and finally clean again after 3 weeks of camping. not that i didn't wash while i was away but getting clean in your own shower makes you feel just that little bit squeakier
been sleeping all over Europe, travelling in ROTOTOM the van who did us so proud by never breaking down not even once and only making the scary noise a few times
slept through france belgium and woke up in germany, pitched camp, made spaghetti
mountains and tunnels and mountains and tunnels and then Italy
then hospital coz Benji's thumb was about to explode with POOOOSE (that's what Italians call it anyway) after camping a night on the most uncomfortable spot in history
then 10 days of reggae in the forest under the mountains
it rained the first day, we invested in enough plastic sheeting to cover slovenia (probably) and didn't get too wet, but my bones felt damp for a long time. and damp dreads are no fun either
friggin cypress hill didn't play coz of rain and that sucked, and the mud looked felt and smelt like shit
and the showers were outdoor, cold and communal
when the sun came out it was much more fun
we met some cool germans, we went to stay with them on the way home. they took us to SCHNITZEL FACTORY, which was novel and satisfying but i couldn't finish mine because we'd been living on one meal a day and i guess my tummy shrunk, we hung out and learned new drinking games
then we went to maastricht which was fucking lovely, the dutch are so civilised. i felt like we were so obviously BRITSONTOUR but nevermind the coffeeshops were top quality, much nicer than amsterdam. plus i stayed in the BOOTEL which is a hotel boat with the smelliest rooms ever and one real grumpy dude who woke us up at 6 am to tell us not to smoke in our room.....which we weren't doing coz it was 6 am and who's awake then? anyway it was relatively cheap for an actual bed for the night plus me and the boy needed a little privacy coz sharing a tent with 2 other guys and the whole outdoor shower situation was beginning to drive us crazy
so yeah, er i can't think of much else to say except bleeeeeaaaaaaaaaar i don't know what to do with myself coz i just got home and it's really quiet and it's too early to sleep but i have no one to chat with and the boy is leaving for 4 weeks tomorrow and i already said goodbye but didn't get to DO goodbye
however i am happy because i managed to survive a severe down patch while still maintaining good communication and coverup whith those people i was forced to be with everyday who i didn't want to pour my soul out to
also i'm moving into my cute new house really soon and then in august i get to go to america and see all my family
AND i "satisfied the examiner" for this year so i'm not going to get kicked out of uni, and my average was MUCH higher than i thought it would be
i have no money, i think i'll have to beg holly for the shifts she offered me a while back, hmmm
soooo
xx
