So an update of my life.
Two weekends ago I went to this pretty rad rave by the Myrtle Ave. stop on the J train in Brooklyn. We partied it up in an old Lutheran church. Sweet old organ and some beautiful stained glass, DJ booth was high up in the alter with Jesus and other religious figures hanging over. I rolled face and smoked and went with a cousin and friend (both much more level headed guys than myself who just drank but didn't even get too drunk). My one buddy Matt was on the prowl I learned that night that he had recently broken up with his girlfriend of 6 months (she was Christian and he was raised Jewish and she wanted there to be more in terms of religion). Anyway, Matt had the logic of "well if I hit on ten girls, I am bound to get lucky with at least one" (reasonable) and his logic served him well, I don't think I'd ever pull that off sober like he was (would probably need some liquid courage or some white powder). My cousin Manny invited a co worker, Vicki, who rolled with two friends, AD and Anya. Manny ended up hooking up with Vicki and meanwhile I was just dancing rolling face feeling all sorts of good. There was this rocking band called Spanish Fly, they gave like a big band rock feeling to old school Spanish music (the kind of stuff I grew up with at family parties being from a Cuban family), my cousin and I just started dancing salsa and merengue (our brains are sort of hard wired). Cops finally cleared out the place at around 4:30AM and my cousin and I went to some dubstep, moombahton joint in some more secluded (i.e industrial sector) and chilled out till around 5:30 letting our ears ring. It was overall a pretty sweet time, I can't wait for the next Rubulad and I recommend it for anyone who hasn't been.
This past weekend was a little slow, I went out with coworkers on Friday after work to this place called "Powerhouse" in Jersey City. Spot is not really my style but for the $20 unlimited Yuengling and Coors Light or house wine plus finger food (sliders, pizza, fries, salad, sushi etc) from 5-9 as part of corporate happy hour (Wed-Fri) I couldn't really resist. I got pretty tanked and we ended up in Hoboken at the Pourhouse, I was lucky that one of my coworkers who lives near my home in Jersey was able to take me home. I watched The Good the Bad and the Ugly on Saturday, pretty solid western and I went to the theaters on Sunday to watch The Cabin in the Woods which highly entertained me. Not a scary movie, but the way they incorporate elements of classical horror and the archetype characters used was all done really well in my opinion. If your a fan of the genre I would say go check it out, it's a little more comedic then scary though.
This Saturday is my birthday and I will be turning 24 years old (which really is going to be no different then 23). I am not sure what I will be doing at night although I will be in NYC and most likely Brooklyn bound (or LES) but at 2PM I do have a dominatrix session with Mistress Elura (www.mistresseluranyc.com). Mistress Elura cracks me up and her energy really gets me going, I love playing with her (minus the cost of these pro sessions), but since it has been almost a year since my last dominatrix session I felt it would be nice to treat myself. I know I will have a good time even though I will undoubtedly be sore for the rest of the night. I am hoping I can find some sort of rave event and am really banking on the nonsensenyc mailing list to provide me with some epic entertainment for the night, otherwise I will find something random to do (maybe Berry Hill beer garden in Williamsburg with a little low key bowling at The Gutter?). I guess I will play the rest of Saturday by ear.
Game of Thrones! Not sure who watches this series (you all should btw and read the books which are also great although frustrating after you finish book five and you want to keep reading!) but it has been pretty solid this season. I don't want to give any spoilers away, watch it and we can all discuss at some point after the season is over!
Anyone want to try/do acid? It has been on my to do list for a while and was wondering if any friends here were down, maybe check out some museums or botanical gardens or just wander aimlessly like lunatics through the streets of NYC absorbing everything at a higher brain processing level. Let me know! Also the idea of candy flipping entices me but I would need some sort of dancing venue.
Hope all my friends here are doing well! Cheers and until next time!
