Chuck Palahniuk has long been one of my favorite authors, and anyone who's read one of his books need not ask me why. After seeing Fight Club in the theatre, I tracked down a copy of the book and have been in love with his work ever since. I finally got the opportunity to meet the man while he toured the country in support of Haunted, and was not disappointed.
I mention all of this because earlier today I finished Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey. It now has my brain swimming with ideas too numerous to begin to sort and unload here, some of which I already had that have been slightly modified, and others that I hadn't considered much before. When a book provokes this much brain activity, I know it's great, and so Rant joins the list of my favorite books of all-time. I'm tempted to start it over again right now, but instead I think I'll let my brain work on its details and ideas and return to it in the near future. Besides, I have stacks of books I'd like to read, and rereading Rant right away will only delay my progress through the others. So, onward to a Tom Robbins novel...
To anyone who reads this, I'll just recommend that you go out & pick up Rant and let me know what you think when you're done with it and we can discuss it further...
