I hope nobody minds my ramblings. I feel like everyone here is so gracious and accepting and I cherish that. Please feel free to give feedback or participate at will! I would love to hear everyones thoughts!
"Make not your thoughts your prisons."
- William Shakespeare
So I have horrible insomnia and I know I'm not alone In this. I've seen a lot, done a lot, had a lot done to me. My mind sometimes has no shut off switch. I lay there looking at the depths of the interwebs searching for something to draw away the train of thought that's dissuading me from sleeping.
I've tried tons of things. Music, tv, meditation type activities, breathing exercises. Funny though, one night I saw a commercial during a superbowl a year or two ago. Sleep tapes by Jeff Bridges. That's right, the dude himself. I tried them and they worked! I was amazed! It was the weirdest thing that these out of everything worked. They're definitely my go-to now.
So. I know it could be hard for some so don't feel obligated, but I know venting, even to strangers might help. So if you want, what keeps you up at night? Or if you don't feel like discussing it maybe help others, what helps you get rid of the thoughts? Maybe even just get you to stop the constant thinking long enough to be able to fall asleep.
