[less than happiness]
I was under the impression, at one point, that discrimination, of any sort, was a social faux pas. Something that you are not supposed to partake of or condone. With societies of all shapes often either ignoring it where it happens to treating the plague of it with humor. The idea that it must not be bad, people are laughing. And you would think that in one of the most notable, both for size and for standing, organizations of this world that you wouldn't find such things.
I mean, hey, they lecture about equal opportunity and the negatives of sexual harassment, etc., in what could be called anything but 'briefs.' That they put forth bold statements of zero tolerance, but it is rampant none-the-less. Even moreso in the leadership. Some sort of land where the ignorant rule and the selfish thrive.
And the greater irony is in the fact that one of the more obvious points of it - the fabled 'D&D' - which in many cases leads to the leadership making biggoted and derogatory comments, is one of the greatest tools against all the other rampant issues so frequently abound. Alcoholism. Sexual misconduct. Curfew violations.
I'd rather be holed up than an idiot.
I'm already hating this place.
[le sigh]
