Been thinking a lot the last couple of days about nuclear blast radii. This is a pretty cool site:
http://www.nuclearterrorism.org/blastmaps.html
I don't agree with the dude's prescriptions, but you can enter a zip code and it will show you a map depicting the blast radii if a 10 kiloton nuke were to go off there.
Since he focuses on nuclear terrorism, I'm assuming he thinks 10 kilotons (slightly smaller than Hiroshima, I think) would be a likely size for a terrorist nuke? Anyone know?
Kinda sucks cuz where I am in my town, according to these maps, if a nuke of that size were to go off in any likely target area, I always end up in the 'blue' zone, which looks like the most painful zone to be in. There's a good chance you won't be instantly, painlessly turned to dust, but rather you'll spend the last 48 hours of your life in horribly burned, disfigured agony.
Oh well.
Hate to keep beatin the COD4 thing to death, but the nuke blast part is such a freaky depiction: (god, I gotta get my COD4 working)
