I 've decided to be Alex from A CLockwork Orange for Halloween. As of now, I have the eyelashes, derby hat and cane, while the white clothes (with that mysterious sleeve eyeball), boots, and 'jock strap' will prove to be a harder find. Would a sports store have these hidden treasures? Time is running out...

So, I have this problem where I keep spending copious...

So the plan for Halloween this year is to travel down to New York and visit my friends Trevor and Jake. The only problem is that I can't decide on a costume. I've narrowed it down to a couple of choices:

- Ziggy Stardust (this one could be too hard to pull off)

- Alex from A Clockwork Orange

- Sgt. Pepper (preferably George)

-...

I've gotten really into Donovan too. Have you heard the song "Turqoise"? That's my favorite donovan song. It's so good that I won't play it in my car. It has to be played on my big stereo at home. I thought about going as the Thin White Duke for Halloween. But my hair is too long to dye just for costume's sake.

Well, I could have kicked that kid but then cops would have showed up. Cops that...I would have had to kill with my unfairly sexy sword swingin'. So I stayed my hand. For now.

I REALLY hope Ep. III doesn't suck. But, I'm not holding my breath. OK, I am. But just barely.

Halloween huh? I might go as international lady-killer ROOOOOBBBEEERRRT GOOOULEEETTT!!!!

Again.

Oh and listen to Love and Rocket's "Sweet Love Hangover" for smooth acoustic action.

Whenever I venture downtown at night, I prefer to stay in the streets where all of the unseen action is. I'll assume a position up against a brick wall and quietly stare at all the strangers passing by, trying to read their faces. There's a multitude of characters that dwell in the city waiting to be 'discovered'. All you have to do is stand still,...

Yeah... I really enjoy the diea of the 6 films really working together. That's the majotr reason I wasn't bothered by the changes...I want to be able to watch them all as an inter-connecting story.

Interpol's "Antics" is good. It gets better with multiple listens. In fact, I just wrote a review about it the Music section (in the thread "Interpol Antics"). Defintiely worth hearing, fi you liekd the first.

Great story, by the way! smile

I can't say I'm a fan of those who neglect to update their journal at the very least, every week. You, sir, need to step it up. *snaps fingers*

Ugh...I feel sick. puke

I need some homemade bok soup and a small robot to feed it to me. I will call it Mum Mum because that's the only sound I can make with my mouth.

"Mum Mum. MUM MUM!!"

"Yesssss Masssster?" (It will have a lisp. A cold, metallic robot lisp.)

"My meed more mum mum mor my mummy"

"We don't have anymore ssssoup, massster."

"MUCK...

Hey man, I got your address, I'm gonna send out that CD tomorrow. Sorry about the delay. I have this new job at the Viper Room so I've been pretty busy.

I can't wait to hear this music you send me. It defintely sounds like it's my kind of stuff.

My family had a cat named Crunchy when I was a kid. Actually, its full name was Crunchy Burnt Muffin Flakes. It was the last pet my parents ever let me name.

Oh, man! I know EXACTLY what that is like...! smile

Yeah...I find that most musicians you meet just wanna make shitty misic...or else they want to do whatever the big thing is...in So Cal, it's either post-hardcore, or scream-o or something similar...and that's not counting all shitty metal and pop-punk bands...it's annoying...but if you keep looking, you'll find somebody,.I promise...

Everything went fine at the ol' Tooth Master's office. That whole chipped tooth thing was all in my delusional mind! The Tooth Master said I was a good boy with a great smile and that my teeth have a wonderful future in my mouth. We then high-fived each other and proceeded to skip through a tulip garden, holding hands. He told me that he has...

Hahaha! We didn;t want to name the song "Spider and The Fly" becuase of the Rolling Stones song!!! In fact, it's misnamed on the file...the title is just "the spider"...anyways...

Man! Start up a band! You';re in New York, for Christ sakes! Tehre's gotta be a few guys you know who play! Who cares if they're good or not; as long as they wanna make good music (I truly believe that is far more important)!

DO IT!!!

First, my car starts to fall apart. Now it's happening to me! I think I chipped my tooth yesterday and it's sorta stressing me out. My teeth don't feel any different and it doesn't hurt at all but it LOOKS like a small peice is missing. Well, it's off to the dentist for me. I'd be scared if I wasn't such a man...

...ok I'm...

HAHAHA! Great jouurnal, man! Good luck!

Thanks! And no need to explain; people's musical taste are always the first thign I look at, too!

My band is..kinda hard to explain. It's kinda dark, kinda old punk-ish, like old Siousxie & The Banshees, and other times sounds like really early New Order. People say we sound like Bauhaus. Hahahaha; I guess "post-punk"
is the most obvious genre we would fit into.

We have a demo...the quality isn't too great, but at least it's something. I could mail you a copy, if you'd like.

Good luck with the dentist ( pain I knwo all too well). And nice to meet you! smile

Thanks dude.

I work part-time for a group of radio stations on the NH-VT border. I've been with the classic rock station for over 4 years and do some airshifts on our sister oldies station too. It's pretty much your standard run of the mill classic rock station, for which i'm sort of a "hired-gun" music director/scheduler. That's to say, I don't choose what music gets played, I don't buy the groceries, I just cook the stew.

However, I do have a long running (3+ years) weekly deep cuts show, where I have carte blanche on the music, although I try to program that with a sense of flow and not go way too out-of-bounds (no Yoko screaming, etc.) I wish we still had a webcast but that is no longer the case.

I'm in need of a new musical obsession - another band that can drain my life and wallet away...

...or perhaps not.
scopitone6248:
Well fuck, man, thanks!

Yeah T-Rex is an all time fave and I have the some of the stuff you mentioned. My favorite T-Rex recordings are these WIP (Work In Progress) sessions that are simply songs from Electric Warrior with bits of studio banter in front of every song.

Bolan's voice is hiiiigh pitched. tongue
scopitone6248:
Yeah man, I've been on a Bolan kick for years! wink

I came across the WIPs in accident, actually. I was downloa...I uh, bought Electric Warrior and within the file were all these WIPs that I'd never heard before. Shit, I haven't searched for WIPs in a long time...
