.... yes, I am boosting the top 5 from High Fidelity... sue me....
So this one will be five fun board games. I love spending times with friends, sitting around a table, and enjoying a game. Far more interactive and engaging, it's a great way to just relax for me....
1) Eldritch Horror - this is fun co-operative game where the players are desperately try to prevent the ancient Elder Gods of Lovecraftian horror from destroyingthe world. It's a fairly long but amazing game to spend a dark evening playing.
2) Five Tribes - this is a fun worker displacement game where the players are moving meeples (little wooden people pieces) from different oasis and palaces to eventually remove a set of figures, causing a special power to occur - such as generating points, buying items, or even assassination. It's kinda heavy, but really a lot of fun.
3) Splendor - Playing as jewelers, you are trying to grow your business, gaining resources and patrons, eventually becoming the best artisan of all! It's a fun, quick game that is easy to pick up and run with new players.
4) Spartacus - If you have watched the show, you know what is in store for yourself. You are scheming and plotting against other houses, leading to great gladiatorial contests where you can thumbs down the loser... great fun but be aware you should not trust anyone!
5) Pandemic - Ending with another co-op game, you are a team of researchers, desperately trying to prevent four different diseases from running rampant across the world. Many ways to lose, one way to win...
BONUS - If you are interested in learning more about board games beyond Monopoly and Clue, check out Geek and Sundry's Tabletop, hosted by Wil Wheaton, for great play-throughs of games and the Dice Tower for game reviews.
Hopefully this didn't bore people... I will work on another list of my interests soon. Thanks for reading!

Haha, I'd lose pandemic on purpose xD great post. I love pen and paper, but am always up for board games. Though my all time favourite is the evil version of UNO (shame on me, but everyone can play it, sooo ... basically everyone on this planet is a potential opponent) ... :)
