I know what you're thinking .... what the hell has this guy been up to?
Other than going through financial hell and back, just trying to figure out how to get into the game's industry. There's the semi-traditional way: A degree in video game making. or work on a mod that sets the industry on fire, and hire's your team to make it a commerical reality (counter-strike, red orchestra, etc.). For right now, I'm doing the traditional way. Doing the online education thing, and getting a new computer that will allow me to go head first into all the programs and processes that are involved. Maya looks fun to play with. 3D studio max also. With the introduction of XNA, things got a little bit more creative. So now instead of spending money buying games, i could be spending that same money on making them (in addition to playing of course). And the whole "dude, i made an xbox 360 game" makes me feel warm in the pants.
Still a retail electronics dept video game guru. That will never change. Been a hobby since 1977 (or when i was 7 years old). The new battlestar galatica rocks. just got the "2.0" box set, and now hearing that was a half-season set. "2.5" is set for this fall. can't wait. Teen titans, the video game,. is also cool. Watching the first season again is refreshing. Finally get to see them in order.
I'm now an art student. I have sketchbooks. Three of them. and pencils. and an electric sharpener. and a desk. and more importantly sketches!
