Title: Inevitable Spring.
This will take some getting used to. When I started night shift, it was the end of fall, coming onto winter. When I went to work, it was dark. When I got back home, it was dark. I was used to this, because it's easier to fall asleep when it is dark.
Now that spring is here, I come home and the crack of dawn is already taunting me.
Smeg! Either I freeze during the winter, or go bug eyed during the rest of the year. Man... if only there was a way to win...
But other than the disruption to my sleeping patterns, I can say that spring is a joyous occasion. I've seen the first of the Canadian Geese arrive from their migration in the spring. At my busstop on Sunday, one of the noisy birds honked at me from a skyscraper, where it had built its nest to survey downtown. I hope he has fun taunting the suits!
Warm weather is finally starting to seep in. Granted, being from Saskatchewan automatically makes me climatized for any extreme weather, but it is nice to have a mild climate for awhile. I was able to bring out some light jackets, including my prized black trenchcoat!
I wonder what it's like in Saskatchewan? I'm going back home on Saturday to visit my family. They will miss me, though I dread having to explain to them why the only bachelorate in the family can't get a job past janitor. I'd rather take a 30-08 asperin to the temple than have to talk about that.
Besides, there's not much to look forward to at home besides family. Both family dogs are gone. One died over a year ago, the other just last month. Both been with me since Grade 1. Saskatchewan's in a drought, and will continue to do so for many years. My friends have gone their separate ways.
I will make due, and derive enjoyment nonetheless. That is my mission. To escape Calgary, my crap job, and my problems for five days, and let myself unwind at my family acreage.
I sure hope dad doesn't put me through more farm chores. *LOL*
