So, over the weekend, I had the opportunity to volunteer for Indy Popcon. It's just like any other comic book convention but probably a little smaller since it's still kind of young. And, for the first time in a very VERY long time, I actually had a fun time. Sure I was running around a lot to help people out. One of those people being Sam Jones (aka Flash Gordan) because the dude really needed his brand and egg sandwiches. I also got to meet some cool vendors putting out new geek products. Such as an app for character creation and management for DnD, a new card game being released soon (I had the great fortune of winning second place in one of there tournaments and getting two free decks), and some cool photographers. It was all well worth the lack of sleep due to going to work after and straight back all weekend. And to top it off, I was lucky enough to meet Robert Carradine at the invite only party on Sunday. He was nice enough to take a picture with me even after having to do it all weekend at the convention, and I helped make another girls day by getting her a picture with him and having him call her "nerdy girl" (I have no idea why she liked it so much). It was a long overdue enjoyment and I really wish I could have more of them. Oh, and Robert was nice enough to let me know about a new Revenge of the Nerds movie coming out soon.
