Apparently everyone I know has been watching the show on ABC the last few weeks called "My Favourite Album". Seems like they've been showcasing the top 100 albums as voted by, erm, some kind of ABC audience. No idea where it was advertised, although JJJ would have to be a given. Did they advertise on all the talkback radio stations and ABC Classic as well? And what about the ABC Kids TV station?
Anyway I think they show 10 albums each week and this week they showed 10-1. I saw 5-1. As soon as I worked out what the show was about I started screaming for Pink Floyd. Floyd came in at NUMBER ONE. Damn they're good.
Although Jeff Buckley came in at number two. Which about sums up how I feel about him. Mates at school always used to boast about how awesome he was and misunderstood, and when he croaked they cried about how the world never treated him right. But I could never get into that. I thought he was a wanker. I hated the pretentious voice (forget this "angelic" falsetto shit, it just sounded annoying) and the piss weak music.
Radiohead came in at number 3 or 4, and although I never quite got into them I always kinda wished I did, and respected what I heard of theirs.
Then I checked out the full list on the net at work yesterday (see http://www.abc.net.au/myfavouritealbum/top100.htm if you're interested), and saw Anthony Callea at number 36 or so. ANTHONY FUCKING CALLEA. For those of you who don't know who he is, I pine for your blissful ignorance. He is one of our most pathetic 'musical' exports; even Kylie's version of The Locomotion blows anything he sang out of the water. Actually I don't want to rant about him or the Popstars crap, so I might just go listen to Smoke on the Water instead.

Haha, a less psycho ATDI isn't a bad call actually the rest of their stuff is a lttle more punk than that track though.
I've never got Jeff Buckley either, those best album shows are always way off.
How are you doing Christmas in Oz or are you just going to boycott it with you humbuggery?
London has just been hit by a tornado, yay.
