So much to do, and so little time. I'm moving in 3 weeks, but I haven't even started packing yet.
A little background. I own a house and I live with two roommates. When I move, they will be renting from me. Probably 80% of my house is filled with my roommates crap... they just can't stop buying useless junk.
I, on the other hand, don't have a lot of 'things', because I buy out of necessity.. not because I want the newest shiny thing that gets waved in my face. I would be perfectly happy with the clothes on my back, a place to sleep, shower and do laundry... and my laptop, of course. I was perfectly comfortable living out of a suitcase this spring when I was traipsing around South East Asia for two months.
I've discovered, I don't need 'things'. All I need is money enough to get the things I need when I need them.
As a result, most of the stuff in the house isn't mine. However, there are some things that I will be needing out of social necessity. Stuff, enough to make my pad comfortable for when friends drop by.
I'm stoked because there's no other people to compromise with. No conflicting opinions. No other peoples baggage to contend with. No overcrowded space issues, either. Just me, my tastes and the things *I* like. But I've gone a bit crazy.
Thus far I've spent close to $4500 on furnishings. Couch, coffee table, end tables, bed frame, armoire, refridgerator etc. I'm going to have such a party when I move out. And it will be close to Holloween (one of my favorite holidays). Woo Hoo!
