i just got back from new york, and every time i go to that city i experience a mixture of revulsion and euphoria. there's so much to do, but it's so bloody crowded. i just hate people, so very very much, and i really can't take them in such large quantities. but it was nice because i got to see my friends, and actually go out which i never do, and hang out with my cousin who is the coolest eight year old on the planet. but damn do i love boston. it's just big enough to be a real city without being disgustingly crowded. and dirty. yeah. but the shopping is pretty good. too bad i'm broke.
speaking of which my laptop should be here in two days! yay!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm just a little excited.
and my mom got back from china yesterday, which is awesome because i missed her a lot. and she brought presents - including a book of tang dynasty poetry in translation, which i can't wait to dive into.
so other than that nothing exciting whatsoever. i have to have my wisdom teeth out next week and i'm terrified. not so much about the surgery, but about the iv. i even asked if they could put me under first and then put the iv in, but they said no. *sigh* i think i'm going to see if they'll prescribe me something to take the nerves away before the procedure....like vicadin or something.
but at least my mom is home to take care of me. and soon i'll have my apartment back. i miss my apartment. perhaps more than i missed my mother. although that doesn't speak volumes for my character as a daughter, it does do justice to the fabulousness of my apartment.
