Shooting and Throwing.
Lately that's about all I do. First, I started a ceramics class, but I suck out loud. I went shooting with my dad and I think his .38 revolver broke my hand. That's super sad. I've shot much bigger guns, but everytime I shoot that revolver I hurt myself.
Finally, I'm back into shooting my Holga. I bought my Mr. a Yashica LM TLR for his birthday, and it was the most brilliant present ever. I bought it about 2 months ago along with a bunch of 120 film for the both of us. However, I was keeping it a secret and had to hide all the 120 film, so even I couldn't shoot. As neat as the Yashica is, I really prefer the lo-fi quality of the Holga when I'm taking random art shots. I shot an entire roll of pictures of my Mr. taking pictures with his Yashica. I thought it was a nice twist on art. He thought I was stalking him and it weirded him out. I didn't bother telling him what I was doing.
I've found that the Holga might be one of the most diverse mediums for shooting photos. If you don't own one, google it. It's a toy camera with a plastic lens and light leaks, but it does such interesting things. And you can run 35mm through it for an interesting effect.
Anyway, I have yet to develop all the film shot over the weekend, but I think I'm going to upload some old Holga photos into a gallery here. I love these pictures, but I wish scans were as true to the pictures as the real prints are. Anyway, check em out, they're interesting.
