Haven't posted in a while, kinda been busy spinning my wheels. Working like mad without actually going anywhere. I did manage to get out to the beach last week, it was GREAT weather to get out. The sun was shining hot, but the water was FREEZING, lol. Well that's life around the Great Lakes, it'll be late august b4 the water actually warms up to a decent temperature " But that didn't stop me from meeting some sexy girls and generally great ppl
I hope to spend most of this Canada Day weekend going to the beach and partying down in TO. We'll see what happens
Oh! I almost forgot! I just left this 12h midnight position for the temp agency. It required that I spend almost the entire shift walking around the warehouse palletizing and running the pallets out to the warehouse. I couldn't do more than 2 days in a row without my feet being too painful to walk on.
Anyway, right after saying I couldn't continue there the agency signed me up for a counterbalance position in a unionized factory! It's Mon-Fri 8h midnight shifts and if I can manage it for three months I'm likely to b hired FT! For those who don't know, unions are VERY strict on what they allow in the way of Temp contracts(seeing as they are workers that fall outside of their influence) so they require that employers limit the amount of time someone can remain there as temp. It's actually a good system in my opinion, the employer gets a chance to check out how a person does in the work environment without any commitments, the union knows that they aren't going to b pushed out by cheep no commitment temp workers(which often happens to a large extent in non-unionized places), and the temp employee knows that the time spent working at a place actually goes towards more secure employment. Hopefully I actually enjoy the job " If I DO get FT there I will in all likelyhood move my ass down to TO for a shorter commute, as well as to b closer to the beach, lol XD
