Finally got a date in stone. January 10th. That's when I'll be getting to Europe, and from what it's feeling like, starting my life over.
It's pretty bitter sweet leaving home. I was born & raised in Virginia, and I've lived in the NoVA/DC area for the past 8 years. None of my friends and family regret me going, they know what an amazing opportunity it is, but it's still sad to leave. I've been trying to get away from here for years, and just when I was finally happy again, and not looking to go anywhere, my Uncle Sam and other plans for me.
Movers are picking up all of my stuff a few days before I leave. God knows when I'll ever see it all again. I'll most likely be living out of a hotel room & luggage until February. lol Not looking forward to that part. I find out tomorrow when I drop my Jeep off for shipment. Not sure how I'm going to get around here without it. I'll probably try to make it as late as possible until I leave so I won't be without it for long. I've always heard Europe has a better grasp on public transportation then we ever have. Guess I'll be putting that to the test my first month or so there.
I'm not really expecting to find something via SG, but it's worth a shot. If anyone knows of a house/apartment opening up around Mons/Shape/Chievres area in Jan/Feb, let me know. House hunting is how I'll probably be spending a lot of my free time when I first get there. Fun times.

Even though it's going to be a few weeks, I've started looking online already just to get an idea of what I'll be finding. I'm hoping to find an apartment in downtown Mons, the closer to the center of the city, the better.
I've been neglecting SG. I'll be sure to post an update soon.
