There's something amazingly satisfying when the person you desire and put some effort into pursuing finally pays off.
In a rather unexpected turn of events. This cute little thing who's been giving me the cold shoulder since I met her, finally decided to meet up with me while I gallery hopped here on Last Thursday in Portland.
I met her on the MAX (light rail) and shared some fries with her as we traveled. I found out the guy she was with before boarding the train was not her boyfriend and so I began to talk her up enough to ask for her number. She was hesitant and then asked if I was on Facebook. UGH, really? I mean I believe I already have too many random people and people I knew 20 years ago on FB that it's just another thing for me to have a girl I'm interested in on the thing. I told her yes I am but would still prefer her number. She gave it to me.
Texted her a couple days after wards wanting to hang out, but she never texted back, so I looked her up on FB since she seemed to prefer that. Sent her a message that we knew some of the same folks and were at the same party the other day. She adds, me and then sends me a message about how she's just not into dating guys right now. Usually that's the kiss of death, and I backed up for a bit.
But then a week or so later, I tell her I'd still like to hang out and would even tuck back my junk (I'm hilarious). That worked I guess and we started carving out some time in our busy lives.
Gallery night seemed to be the winner, but we both had other places to go and so I was 100% expecting she'd stop by and say high, have a beer and be off... which would have been really cool, things have been going way too fast and taking it slowly would be a nice change. But we ended getting a few more drinks at a local bar and hanging out all night and it was really nice.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say I like her, but I don't really know her and she seems a bit prejudgey about my age, my diet (vegan) and some other stuff on her list of qualifications. But I'm willing to take it slow and get to know her, I just hope she is to.
all I got for now!

desided:
good move with the facebook thing. You dont want to getting into the trap of competing with loads of guys trying to win her attention. Its sad and demeaning. It all sounds pretty natural and cool, although with the mental list those girls tend to want long term relationships that they have a good part in controlling. I would say you sound like a guy that could do with someone a bit more laid back but im sure you'll have a good time
