This weekend was Danas drumming campout. I had a blast! I finally got to sufi dance....whirl and the other momement with sound. All I got was dizzy but I did get to do it in a group which I have wanted for some time. I had a great moment at the drum Saturday night. Really got into it and felt connected with everyone! We danced around the fire naked with our bodies painted tribal style. It was excellent. Wish my G/F had felt better but next year maybe she will enjoy it more. OH and I got to participate in the chocolate ritual which is more of a play.....it was fun! I was the swiss miss. These peeps are so hardcore into the drumming. Almost couldn't believe it! Saturday night never ended! They drummed until 7am!!! I feel my new D'jembi is fully charged now. Oh and my maracas got allot of action too!

I will have to catch up with a quick maraca solo next time I see you.
way back in the day, when I used to follow the grateful dead, there were always large contingents of "spinners" in attendance at every show. they would spin, almost non-stop, throughout the entire concert. it was quite a site to see, a hundred or more spinners going all at once. if you stood near enough, you'd kind of get the urge to spin with them. it was actually pretty cathartic.
