Hello again all,
This next part took place on the same day as the incident with the older gentleman who was caught stealing. Well with our company, we prosecute all offenders caught with merchandise over $5.00. We called to police to come out to take custody of this gentleman at 11:10. Well, at 11:50 I called them back to find out what was going on. They siad that they had no one available. You mean to tell me that they could not have sent 1 car for a prisoner transport... Ok fine, Phildelphia police have done this before. So I wait... Well, I called them back again at 12:15. Again, no ones available... Again, called them at 12:50. NO ONES available. Again, 1:20, no ones available. Well I decided to call my supervisor who works out in Maryland and told him the situation. He said to wiat another 30 minutes and if the policedidn't show, to release the man and to explain the situation to him. So finally, at 2:00 pm, we released the man and explained to him the situation. He was very pleased to not have been arrested but I wasn't.
3 HOURS we waited for an officer, any officer to show up and take this guy downtown... How the hell??? I don't know.
But please go ahead and feel free as to add your own comments on how you may have wiated on police to respond when you may have truly needed them. My problem is that Philadelphia BOASTS about one of the largest police forces in the nation... and they couldn't send one damn car to pick up a 67 year old man... WTF 13
