So now the question remains...
do I let her attempt to find a new tentant, absolving me of the lease...
or do I call in a public health inspector and have the place deemed uninhabitable (which it really, really is) and have THAT absolve me of the lease?
The second option seems a little petty, but really would settle this shit once and for all.
Also, I found and printed her court records (public records) from when the foreclosure started.
Feb 2012.
We moved in July 2012 and she said NOTHING about it. Considering neither Christine or myself would have signed the lease knowing the place was in foreclosure...I would hope that would void the contract. (Basically making it a contract under false pretenses.)
Opinions?
I just want this shit to go away and I want to forget I lived there.
I don't have happy thoughts anymore. My happy thoughts are dark and twisted and quite frankly...scare me a bit, and it's because of this fucking apartment and the soul crushing atmosphere of it.

I had a similar roommate horror story once... and rather than risk the potential escalation/fallout of reporting him to the authorities... just got the fuck OUT.
Just move out, get the PO Box that is all.
You gave her 30 days notice which I belive is all you need in CT - were you on a month to month lease?
Either way the onus is on her to get money out of you if she wants it.
Do not talk to her, do not respond to her texts, do not respond to her calls.
If you can move out before the actual move out date (see if you can move in 3 days early) so she can't show up and make a scene. Get out of there (move as fast as possible even if you have to hire extra help for the loading - again keeping the window small at the old place).
Forward mail only to the PO Box.
You just need to keep it as simple as possible and not give her any fodder.
Don't offer her anything!
Don't fuck with her because then if you go to court it could go against you.
