Ok I have been battling with this damn thing for months. I will try to make a long story short here. I had a plate installed in my forearm/elbow about 5 years ago after I broke it in one of the worst ways. Around January I had a bad case of bursitis. I HATE hospitals. I have a true phobia of needles and surgery and the like. Anyway, my family has a doctor friend so I sent him pics on my iPhone and described to him what was happening and all that jazz. He gives me a steroid pack. While my arm was deflating I got an infection. I go see him about it because I have no other choice (he lives an hour away). He suspects an infection under my plate and I may need surgery but gives me an antibiotic. My arm's excess liquid that was left over from the swelling busts out through my elbow and shortly after that I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I have to go to the ER. I was unaware of the allergy because I never go to the hospital. I go see the surgeon and he takes XRays and says the infection isnt under the plate so no need to operate. He cauterized my arm shut. Now there is still some excess liquid. I think I may need to get it drained. I am so over it.
