Dr. Sheila Rothstein from Elgin st. Medical Centre in Ottawa, ON, nearly punctured my ear drum on Thursday with her ear looker-inner-thingy.
She also doesn't seem to properly understand how throats and ears are connected and that the sore on my tongue, which I thought was probably infected, is the cause for my throat and ear pain, which could also quite possibly be an infection. She said matter-of-factly that my sore was caused by my liprings. So I gave her the most patronizing glare I could manage and informed her that my lip rings are high grade stainless steel and that they've never irritated my skin in 6 years.
I told her straight up that I needed to know if I had an infection, because a mouth infection can spread anywhere in your body. Even if I don't have an infection I need something to clear up this sore so that no bad bacteria or viruses use it as a portal to the rest of my body.
I made it clear to her that I understand what's going on and I just need to know if I'm infected and to have anti-biotics perscribed if I am.
So she nearly pokes out one of my eardrums, pulls on my piercings, perscribes me some sort of oral ointment, ignores me when I ask her why she's not listening to my lungs properly and then tells me I have too many rings in my face.
Not to mention that when I asked her why she was not listening to my lungs properly with her stethoscope she completely ignored me.
The Ontario College of Physicians will be hearing from me regarding Dr. Sheila Rothstein's negligence, prejudice and improper bedside manner.
I'm still in pain. (However, it is getting better and I've come to the conclusion that I'm not infected)
