It really is quite pointless to get into TV shows these days. It seems like most people think I'm weird because I wait for a season to end and then I either download it or buy it on DVD, but almost everytime I get really into a show and I watch it while it's on, it ends up being cancelled. Like Arrested Development and Carnivale. We can now add Sons & Daughters to the list.
I don't really understand it. Is the problem that most of the people who would appreciate these shows stopped watching TV because of all the crap you have to wade through to find anything decent? I used to be one of those, so I would kind of understand. Or does it have more to do with marketing? I know that with Arrested Development at the end it seemed like they didn't want it to get good ratings. It was moved around 3 or 4 times to different nights and times and they never really tried very hard to push it.
The whole thing makes me very sad. It's probably some new kind of overly pathetic form of pathetic to care so much about TV shows going away, but I get very into my TV families. And carnivals. I'm always pushing these shows on people and insisting they borrow the DVDs and at least watch a few episodes in an attempt to create more fans and save my shows. Maybe I should go work in marketing. I could probably figure out ways to get people to watch the good stuff.
I'm gonna go pout and watch the best episode of Sons & Daughters.
