Went to an LA Kings game the day after Christmas and it was a blast. It was "Free Mini Rogie Vachon Jersey" night, so that's what I got. And no, it doesn't fit...
Gore, Rookie and I had great seats, right down on the ice, right off the side from the home net. Excellent seats in general, to be sure, but oh so much better for something like a shoot-out, so I promptly made the prediction/declaration that I felt the game would go to a shoot-out. It was the first of many predictions that night.
Prediction two was when the Kings were down 1-0, and I turned to Rookie and told him I needed to visit the little boy's room, and that the Kings would score while I was away. Which they did, making me right.
Prediction three came during a power-play for the Kings, and was more a command than anything, as I slowly told the Kings to "put... the puck... in the net." Upon finishing the word "net," the Kings scored, and the folks sitting adjacent to me turned in awe at my ability to make the Kings score on a whim.
The final prediction came with 3 minutes left, and the Kings down a goal. I again turned to Rookie and informed him that the Kings would tie, but not until they pulled the goalie so, most likely, about a minute and a half later. And, lo and behold. the Kings pulled the goalie with about a minute and a half left, and tied the game.
The game went to an OT period, was not decided, and then went direct to the earlier predicted shoot-out, which the Kings ultimately won. If only my apparent hockey powers were applicable to my poor lowly Flyers (who finally broke their ten game losing streak). Oh, well, can't be too down about the Flyers or the Sixers with the Eagles playing the way they're playing. NFC East, thy title will be ours!

OMG - I wish I had been there. Wait! I was!

I bet you think you were there, and you may even have been, since I said you were and you said you were, but what does that really mean, huh? It means we agree on something, it doesn't necessarily mean we are right.
