Portland is the heat, the money ticket, the cat's pajamas, the bee's knees if you will. Sorry for the cheesy forties slang I just pulled out, just excited to have gotten to visit my new home this week. I dind't have a lot of time to really sit down and enjoy myself in the city as for my having to work and find myself a cooking job, luckily I'm about 98 percent sure that I in fact did, so YAY! Success! But what I have experienced has left me with a perma-grin on my goofy ass face. Now I just have to make it through my last couple of weeks in SoCal, and I can be back up here and dive right in to the music, food, wine, and all around bad-ass culture that permeates this blessed town full force. I am so excited, and the people here are so nice I have to pinch myself sometimes. The food is great, the bookstores are indepent and killer, as well as the coffeshops and record stores. Love it, don't want to leave it, but am looking forward to the full experience soon!

ahhhh yes, it sounds lovely. we have very similar tastes in where we live. it is important to enjoy your surroundings, explore, and such. downtown orlando is pretty cool. most of the houses were built in the early 1900's, as mine. brick roads, moss, mom and pop shops, bike rides, parks. you should check it out sometime. i have been here some time now, so i could send you in the right directions.
