Wow...
It's been a busy couple of days lately. On Friday, my 5 year old son had his testing for his Karate Cubs. He did great and will be receiving his blue belt today! I am so proud of him. It sucks that I won't be there to see him receive it but more on that later.
On Saturday, my wife took my 5 year old son to art class while I stayed at home with my 22 month old son. Later that day we took my 22 month old son to my wife's parent's house while she and I took my 5 year old son to the circus. My wife had scored us amazing ringside seats and we all loved it.
On Sunday, my 5 year old son's classmate came over with his little brother and his parents for a play date. The boys had fun tearing around the house while the adults got to grill out and enjoy some of my wife's famous margaritas!
My wife had to work Monday (she's a RN) and I had a busy day in my home office. Tuesday was filled with me working, and getting ready for my early flight on Wednesday.
I left our home Wednesday morning at 0400 for a 2.5 hour drive to Atlanta where I hopped on a 757 for a 4.5 hour flight to Las Vegas. I am here attending the ISC West show to see what amazing new technology is coming out in the physical security market... There isn't any.
We went from the airport to Mandalay Bay to check into our rooms, then went to The Sands Convention Center for the show, then to The Venetian for happy hour, then back to Mandalay Bay for dinner... Am I glad that meal isn't going on my expense report! LOL!
Anyways, I am now sitting in the hotel room (a place I find myself more often that I would like), missing my family, and decided I needed to catch up with everyone.
My co-workers are a bit upset with me because I came back to my room at 2300, rather than gamble with them in the casino and join them later for their much anticipated round of the topless bars. I guess I just don't see the point in those activities anymore...
Don't get me wrong, Vegas seems nice, and I can't wait to bring my wife here and take in some shows...
But for now, it's all work.
Hope everyone is doing well!
