Huh! I wonder... wouldn't it be funny and terribly ironic if "the devil" was actually the Bible's author? Hear me out for a moment. Religion is a complex and confusing topic for a great many people. Even scholars who study it never stop, which to me means they never fully understand. Religion preaches love and kindness, yet somehow constantly inspires hatred and cruelty. How like the anti-god to look good doing bad. Could it possibly be that if there is a creator they have no desire to be worshipped and simply wish us lives full of learning and love, where a controlling faith engenders ignorance and fear? I wouldn't really classify myself of any religion or lack thereof, I simply think a lot. Every great cruelty and horror in our entire known history had some aspect of faith involved, perhaps it is faith itself that is the evil? To believe in something without proof can be admirable but easily becomes a denial of the possibility of proof existing. Learning stops when the mind closes like that. Nothing is certain. I just realized, calling one religion the "true faith" is an oxymoron. Nothing is true without proof, and nothing is faith with it. Interesting.
