i just spent the weekend back home, to try and stop my binge drinking and to get a haircut (which is my overused but still effective way of getting over guys (the more devestating the breakup, the more drastic the hair change. this time i went for three inches off and choppy layers. that says something about him))
and i was thinking, as i bullied her into taking silly photographs, that i really love my mom
and i'm really glad that i was never the 'typical teenager' who pushed her mother away and was mean to her and used her for money and all that. because there were some times in undergrad and still that i really needed her to be there, just be there as my mother. we lead really different lives, so a lot of my specific experiences she can't relate to, but as a general rule, she's one of the greatest friends i've ever known.
and she's got a darn cute smile, too
