Ahh yes....Saturday night and I'm stuck inside. All my homies....err peeps....okay friends have to work tomorrow as do I. Working in a prison is like a 7-11....we may not always be doin business, but we're always open.
So my oh my was it a lovely night. The unit I was working tonight has 87 inmates on it and this is the unit of all units in our building. It's got all the clowns, the fighters, the jackasses, etc on it. Don't ask me why but everyone hates working this unit. So I was the lucky CO tonight to get it. But most of these guys give me respect b/c I go to work to do my 8 and come home. Not to fuck w/ inmates. Sure I make sure they're not doing drugs, fucking each other, making hooch, or anything like that, but I'm not gonna bust a dude for having a food service item left over from lunch. So they behaved tonight for me which was good. Actually the shift went by pretty quick.
Only had a problem with one inmate during our lock down stand up count as he refused to stand.....but him and I go way back and we got it straightened out after count when I threatened him with a shot (incident report) and he instead offered to start cleaning the deck and head for me. So I allowed him to do so in place of his shot.
Man oh man were the ladies out tonight. On the train that is. But honestly....after work on the train is the last place I like to attempt my best one liners lol. Sure I may be in uniform for those that find it appealing but I smell like a prison, I'm hot, tired, and generally just don't feel like being around people for a few minutes. (It's like a fucking pre-school sometimes at work only instead of ten 3 year olds running around screaming, it's 80 to 110 grown ass men doing the same fucking thing lol.) They're not all that bad though and it's amazing how your perception of criminals and crimes in general really changes after a few years on the job. I mean for 8 to 16 hours a day 5 days a week, your inmates are your only company. They're the only ones that are either gonna kill you or save you in the event of something popping off. It's a fine line to walk many times between being too nice and not getting any respect and being a total hard ass where all the inmates are waiting for is a chance to stuff you in a cell and beat the fuck outta you. But I detest, as boring as the job may be sometimes, those are the nights that are good and allow me to go home safe. The exciting ones are usually what gets my adrenaline on overload and the inmate feels like dancing so we gonna dance and just hope we walk away the victors in a contact altercation.
Holy shit I'm rambling on. Wow.....enough of that.
So on to something more important. I'm still stuck between two bikes as to which one I'll go with for my next bike. It's either gonna be a Ducati 749R or a Monster 1100 which I'll post pics of. The Monster would no doubt be better in the city and will run much smoother from stoplight to stoplight for commuting. But that 749R I have no doubt will let me stretch it's legs and extend the grin on my face longer on the days I can get out of the city. So what say you?
M1100 modded exactly like this (tail chop, CF rear hugger, boom tubes, ASV levers, rear-sets, etc)
Or a 749R.....(this bike comes from the factory w/ all the trick bits already applied...both will cost about the same)
