It's good to have a reliable source of flame, I think. One at work, one in The Backup Coat (the old comfortable warm scruffy one which stays in the car and has backups of everything in it - pencil+paper, fire, knife, pliers, hat, gloves...), one next to the cooker.
Advice on Montreal... hrm.. not much really. It's pretty damn cool - just be sure to get dinner before 10pm as a lot kitchens close relatively early. At least from my limited experience there.
Not sure if we're jamming tomorrow night but you're welcome to come by and scare kids with us. We have fireworks!
