hey there! hello all and those who come to visit from time to time. these journal updates have been infrequent..
so what to share today?
1. depeche mode is coming to town, and unlike santa clause i doubt that they care much about whether you have been naughty or nice. however - i am in the undesirable position of wanting to go - spend some money and have good seats - and yet discard [or give away? or sell? ] the second seat to someone. yes - its true - i dont have enough friends who like DM who will be in LA over thanksgiving week. the week prior - maybe. the week after - perhaps. the week of? unfortunately not.
the dilemma my friends, witnesses and accomplices is this: do i randomly pick someone who gets to come to the concert and have fantastically great seats because i'm the dumbass who's going to buy scalped tickets for a fortune? or do i attempt to sell the second and recoup half of my money?
the answer is obvious. someone is going to be the lucky soul - but who? if i could only bring my cats..
2. i still cannot believe stay has had such horrible reviews, and exit points. mmm. what kind of world do we live in? everytime i watch a move like 'mission to exposition' [aka mission to mars, or any other movie - really] i get handed the story on a silver platter. over and over and over and over. sure stay is a little awkward and confusing - but dammit [sic] so is life! deal with it! use that grey matter between your ears and discuss what made you feel good - what made you feel uncomfortable and why you might not 'get it' - dont slag it - learn from it.
if you want to know what i think the movie meant i'll tell you below.
3. spoilers:
you sure you want to read this?
alright. *i* think the movie is about wanting to be. .. to live. the entire thing takes place in those few moments before death, and everything is fantasy - but its wonderful. life is like th at - those sudden terrifying moments when everything could be taken away and you realise that you dont want to go -but WHAM its too late. this is about those moments, but you get to walk away from this one - this one time. the characters FEEL that, and that - my friends and random travellers - is why i like the movie. plus it looks cool, and we kicked ass on the bridge sequence.
so tell me. go on, tell me what you thought of the bridge. what does it mean? a prize to the one who gets it.
alright, i've written enough. my cat is playing on my desk with a pen and its like the coolest thing in the world, apparently - but i think its time to pay attention to my best friends.. joey and foothill. i'll post pics of 'em later. yeah, they are cats - but dang can they cogitate.
cheers

Fun fact: I worked on that movie 'Stay". I did locations. I was in charge of the crane on the Brooklyn Bridge. Did you know that you can get a permit to park a 3,000 lb crane on the Brooklyn Bridge pretty easily, but when they show up with a 4,000 lb crane, the guys from the City kind of freak out. They start saying that, like, the brigde is too old and stuff. Ooey. What a day that was.
What's up, hon?
I shouldn't have worked last night...but you know, there's that money thing and stuff.
My whole weeek is hell b/c of upcoming Halloween festivities. That's what happens when you're a performer. Holidays start to suck.
