Seeing as it's been nine months since a real journal, here's a quick update:
I switched programs and am now about a year short of graduating with an MA in Creative Writing and a Certificate in Teaching Composition from SFSU.
I was awarded a fellowship for general awesomeness (yep, that's me).
I won second place in a dramatic monologue contests and got to hear my poem read aloud by a lovely septaugenarian named Flora.
pA's cousin Ella found us a dreamy space in the Mission where I could paint if I ever had time.
I went home to Chicago for winter break and got to see some old SG friends and not-SG friends and, best of all, hang out with my mom for two weeks.
I'm going to see my mom again, tonight (!) in Phoenix, where my family is throwing a surprise 70th birthday party for my uncle.
I bought a new computer with the fellowship money. It is wee. Wee is good.
I went to Vegas last month for a big scooter rally and my scooter (scooter 1) broke down in the middle of the dessert and it was very sad but then Bajaj fixed it for free. Yay Bajaj!
I'm painting my Vespa (scooter 2--yeah, I'm spoiled) at CCSF. I finally laid the basecoat on Tuesday and it looks frickin' awesome. I'm going to take pictures today.
I am learning to build walls. Literally.

And yeah, I have no idea how to buy tickets in advance either. Hmmm. I will ask around, because I think I know people who have been to Sister Spit before.
