Letting go,
Has been described as,
The act of getting to know
Yourself so deeply that
All delusions fall away.
Letting go and moving on
Are two completely different
Sets of ideals
That we, far too often,
Compare together
Moving on is allowing
Oneself a moment to breathe
When everything feels so heavy
Your legs could be swept from beneath you
We "move on" because we have to
Sometimes not because we want to
But because the weight becomes too much
To bear
We "move on" to keep ourselves
In perpetual motion
So the world can't
Catch up to knock us down
We "move on" for fear
That our past indiscretions
May not have been
Our best decisions
We "move on" to escape
Escape the realization
That we have no direction
We "let go" when we
Allow ourselves the freedom
To release those fears
That kept us "moving on"
We "let go" when the past
Only serves as a reminder
Of something from which we
Were trying to "move on"
We "let go" when our
Inner peace allows us
The choice to take that
Which no longer serves us
And send it to the wind
I will choose not to
"Move on" but to "Let go"
For I am done running
