Back from the field tired but exhilarated. Found more animals than expected after the heavy rains. How do they stay so clean while I have come back muddy from head to toe? I have never seen them do more than feeble attempts at removing a leaf from their nose or debris from their mouths. And, yet, they remain clean and beautiful . . . glistening and colorful. So many forms . . . like terrestrial salmon homing to . . . to where?
I, on the other hand, will be spending an hour in the bath praying that if I portion out the hot water over time, the bath will cleanse and soothe for the entire hour . . . whiskey will help. Not too much . . . data recording, notebooks to fill, late night ahead.
More rain to come. Have to re-think my rain gear . . . needs to be tighter for easier travel through brush. Hose me down and put me away wet . . . ready for a bath . . .
