I've been rereading one of my favorite books: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's a really great book with an interesting plot and great depiction of people, but it's one line -- said by death -- in the beginning that makes it worthwhile :
"...I have kept her story to tell. It is one of the small legion I carry, each extraordinary in its own right. Each one an attempt -- an immense leap of an attempt -- to prove to me that you, and your human existence, are worth it."
