Originally I was going to do the blog thing once a week. It was a resolution of mine when I signed up to SG to do such a thing. Alas however, my resolve has not been so strong.
Here I am though, to do my best to yet live up to that seemingly doomed promise to myself. To become one of the "bloging' culture.
So any ways I went out to Barnes and Noble yesterday to poke around at some design and art magazines, to try and bring myself out of the slump that I feel having been so long out of design due to Iraq and living in Ohio in general! (god I hate Ohio, I can't wait to move out!!!!) While there I glanced over some tattoo magazines, some chopper and motorcycle magazines and then worked my way down the line to the area where the magazines where that I had originally gone there to look at.
In all Honesty though I didn't really find to muuch in the design mags that interested me. A really neat chair here and there, Perhaps an intersting table or ottoman or bench. As a whole though I didn't fiind a single, stand alone magazine that i thought was worth my while, time, or money.
However, all was not lost...........
I have found that sometimes the best place to find the most interesting magazines at Barnes and Noble is to hunch down and look way in the back of the middle shelf. Thusly I found LEMON!
This month the theme is espionage. And man is it cool its a magazine that is highly stylized graphicly with articles on art and artists, pop and sub pop culture. It was just pretty, so I bought it and it is still just that cool to look at. I've read about half an article in it and plan to read more but for now it looks nice amongst my things.
Other things that I picked up are Ryan Adams: Gold, The Slaughter House Five by Vonegut and a compilation of the best of the Years Best Sci-Fi stories.
So thats it for me for now other tahn that nothing more to report on.
untill the next time, Good Night and Good Luck
