Hello lovely people of the SG community. I am so sorry for my prolonged absence. Throwing boxes around a warehouse all day tends to make me very tired, but that is no excuse, and the writing WILL continue. As an apology, I decided to do a shout out to, not one, but two lovely ladies in the community.
My first shout out has to go to the very cute and very lovely @nnya. I have two weaknesses in this world when it comes to women, and they are big eyes and bright, almost neon red hair, which she wears perfectly. Top that off with good taste in Skullcandy headphones and one of cutest smiles I've ever seen, and you have a wonderful woman who I pray, will one day become pink. That day, folks, could come sooner than you think. She has a fun-looking set called "The Dark Side" coming out this summer that will be sure to raise the temperature even hotter, so keep your eyes out.
It was also because of nnya that I also stumbled across another hopeful, @clarie. If I had to sum up this amazing woman in one word, it would be pulchritudinous. The word literally means beautiful, and it's only used to describe people, which sums up my opinion completely. In the modelling world, there seems to be a notion that you're not supposed to smile. That smiling takes away from the art that is the model, as if they're supposed to be a statue, or something. I couldn't disagree with this statement more, and clarie is the best example why. Whether she is posing with cute stuffed animals, hiding behind various cloth, or laughing and being silly, I truly enjoy looking at her pictures. Her face is so animated, I can't help but smile myself.
Also, on a more serious note, there is something that I want to address. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that one member was upset about "anorexic" comments being made against them. This is NOT cool. I have always believed that SG is a place that celebrates people of all body types, whether you are short, tall, big, small, long-haired, short-haired, no haired, etc. We shouldn't put people down like that, especially if we don't know the whole story about them. They may just normally be the size they are. Perhaps they have a condition, physical or mental, that plagues them, but it's not our job to judge. In honor of this issue, I'll be in contact with a photographer friend of mine to do a photo shoot of myself with minimal clothing to help send a message that you should love your body, no matter what it looks like. I'm excited and can't wait to share it with you (actually, I'm terrified of the idea, but I'm doing it anyway.)
