Hey anyone actually reading, just finished When Neitchze Wept by Irvin Yalom. It's a fictional book about this meeting that Neitchze and Josef Breuer had. It goes into depth about an obsession they have with two separate women. These obsessions they have are crippling and intrusive and they almost ruin the life of the obsessors. While reading it I couldn't but empathize with them. It was kind of scary. Especially when I think about how easy it is to become consumed with this fantasy of the ideal. Like for example when you see a new Suicide Girl and feel as if only you could be with her you would be the happiest man alive, when in reality that person is the same as you, that person has the same kind of faults and unattractive qualities as any other person you may meet. It's so easy to idealize that which you don't have, and to fantasize happily ever after scenarios. The really scary part is that these fantasies can keep you from truly experiencing reality, it could even have adverse effects on your own REAL relationships.... I digress, it's a good read check it out!
