MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST!!!!!!!111!!1

I'm officially geeking out. I was there for the taping of next week's episode of Kathy Griffin-My life on the D-list. She filmed the episode at Walter Reed back in March.

I think everyone should watch it, for so many reasons the least being to play "Spot Me".

Finally I have a new title and I've moved from a cube to a small office. . My raise for the year sucked but sometimes I wonder why they even pay me for what little work I do. At today's staff meeting the department's VP had to sit by me and when it was time to go around the room and say what I was...

I went through the self checkout line at Giant tonight. I never grab my receipt but today I did. I went on to the redbox dvd machine and one of the employees came over to me and said I didn't pay for my second order. I asked what the hell she was talking about then showed her my receipt and bag of 4 items. She...

I have to get weighed in tomorrow and all that I want right now is a green tea smoothie from Robecks.

It's frustrating as hell when I come home and smell steak that was prepared by one of my skinnyass roommates. I have been a vegetarian for 10 years so I don't want the steak, I just want it to show up on their thighs...

Yes I'm okay. My chiropractor said I ended up with spinal whiplash but I think he is just trying to get insurance money.

Final blog of irony from last weekend. I telework from home on Tuesdays and Fridays. I told my boss I was going to change my day from Tuesday to Thursday last week so I could get my car fixed on Thursday. Really...

Camp Freddy blog

So Thursday night was the show at the Roxy. We get to the Sunset Strip safely by the shady M2 bus from Hollywood. We go in and see that there isn't much of a crowd yet and the stage doesn't have a barrier...meaning we can get up close and personal with Slash and Dave Navaro ( if only they were young and hot *sigh*). We end up getting overpriced drinks @ $10 per (dixie) cup. Then I have a few more. I was turned around and talking while a tall girl snuck past me in to the front row right as camp freddy was about to go on. The girl next to her said we had been waiting all night and she was rude etc. etc. but she didn't care. She was about 6 inches taller than me and now directly in front of me.

As soon as the music started I ended up moshing in to her pouring my drink on her with each beat. She still didn't move so I continued, grabbing every drink in arms reach. This continued all night even when she put on her full face of makeup and asked Billy Morrison (on guitar) to move so she could get a pic of Tommy Lee! The band called her out on putting on her mascara during the show! ha! So anyway I befriended the (other) people around me and had too much fun. Then Emma and I went next door to the Cat Club where we saw Dizzie Reed's band Star**ckers. Some old (like 60) rocker guy was up in front acting like a groupie and dancing poorly. I was just as entertained by him as I was the band. Good times.

Then the MAP Awards on Friday. I volunteered so I could get in free ('twas a Grammy/MusiCares event) and ended up talking for a few hours with a very nice lady who happened to be the mother of the guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Show was incredible as expected. Steven Tyler + Slash + Whole Lotta Love = greatest moment in rock that I'll ever see live.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
These are official reviews so I can remember who and what I saw...

MAP review from Spinner
During his acceptance speech, Slash, who, in true rock star fashion left his sunglasses and top hat on, thanked his "awesome" wife and two little boys, as well as "music in general since it's been my underlying motivation for survival." Letting his guitar do most of the talking though, he jammed with his mates in Camp Freddy (Billy Morrison, Chris Chaney, Donovan Leitch and Matt Sorum) for a ridiculous all-star celebration that started with Cheap Trick vocalist Robin Zander killing versions of the classic 'Surrender' and 'Gonna Rase Hell,' continued with Chester Bennington crooning Cooper's 'Eighteen' to the icon. The jam ended with Tyler coming out for two songs, including a standing o-inducing version of 'Whole Lotta Love,' that also featured Jerry Cantrell.

Roxy review from NME.com
Slash of Guns N Roses, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue and Chester Bennington of Linkin Park joined all-star cover band Camp Freddy last night (May 8) for their show at the Roxy in Los Angeles

Sex Pistols' Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook -- who took the stage with the band last week, as previously reported --also joined in on the hard-rock romp, along with Billy Duffy of The Cult, Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains.

This was the second of the four-night Roxy residency for Camp Freddy, which features Billy Morrison (The Cult), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver), Donovan Leitch (son of singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction).

Set list:

Cheap Trick- 'Hello Ladies and Gentleman'
Blur -'Song 2'
Kiss- 'Rock-n-Roll All Night' w/Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray)
Oasis - 'Rock 'n' Roll Star' w/Billy Duffy (The Cult)
The Cult - 'Lil' Devil' w/Tommy Lee, Duffy and McGrath
Killing Joke - 'Eighties' w/McGrath
Dee Dee Ramone/Richard Hell-'Chinese Rocks' w/Duff McKagan on vocals (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Steve Jones and Paul Cook (Sex Pistols)
Sex Pistols - 'Bodies' w/Jones on vocals, McGrath and Matt Sorum on backing vocals, Cook, McKagan
Guns N' Roses - 'It's So Easy' w/Leah Duors on vocals and Hayley Cramer on drums (McQueen), Slash (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), McKagan
Led Zeppelin - 'Good Times Bad Times' w/Chester Bennington on vocals (Linkin Park), Slash
AC/DC - 'Highway To Hell' w/Bennington, Slash, Duffy

I'm heading out to a show now but thought I should post my first blog of ironies from this past weekend.

Walking back from an event that honored Slash and Alice Cooper for their sobriety I witness a drug deal.

Many more to come.
