So, I have been running around like a monkey all day long due to flooding. I am now at an office building a ways from my home. My backyard no longer existed, it was just a flooding river, and my first floor was almost swallowed. Then we had to evacuate. I had to break past yelling firefighters two different times, one time to get my grandpa, the other time to get my mother and father. We managed to get all of the cars out of my backyard across the bridge right before the water swallowed the bridge. The damn in Canonsburgh just broke an hour ago, so we are expecting more flooding from that. We aren't aloud near our house, they have threatened to arrest me several times. Then after getting to the office building, another creak flooded the back area and we had to tie a boat off the van I was driving and haul it to higher ground. Finally got back to the office, and got to eat for the first time today. I just want to get back to my house. My band had a performance tomorrow too, and we were all fiending to play. Well, an interesting night. I'm out.
aftermath day#2-Our backyard looked like a hurricane hit, or perhaps like they exploded a couple beaver damns on it. The only way onto my street on either side was swimming. Trees laying on the lawn, everything covered in several inches to a half foot of mud and sewage. The basement was totally fucked, just sweage, mud and debris and logs. Most of the people on the street lost so much shit, we did too, but it didn't come over our first floors like so many others on the street.
Our house is a bit higher. We are very fortunate. My whole band came over and worked from early in the morning to help clean up on the first day. We went, unpracticed to a performance totally covered in mud and sewage. And today was another day of mucking around and cleaning up. It will be like this for the rest of the week. Cold showers, telephone not working, apparently the internet and energy are back on. My dad has footage of a lot of this stuff, I'll have to post some pictures.
I think it's wonderful how people have been pulling together. So many people are talking to and helping each other out, who normally would not. Though it is sad that this is what it takes for that to happen.
It was a record amount of rain in one day for this area ever. In my town, it was 8 inches in one day, and in the main Pittsburgh area, I think it was about 6 inches. So far I know of one man dead, and one kid who should have been dead but was found alive swept onto Neville Island several miles away form his house. Pretty amazing. Sever areas were swallowed to the roof and past. 200 barrels of toxic chemicals were lost in the flood waters just a few blocks away from me, empty barrels are now being found laying around in various areas.
aftermath day #4 - Another day of work. The only thing I can seem to smell at the moment is bleach.
And I haven't got to check the accuracy of this yet, but it made me laugh really hard when I saw it.

"I've had a lot of fun writing," says Lou Harrison, the current dean of American symphonic composers. "I still do. If it's fun, it's real. If it's no fun, then it isn't art. Art is advanced play."

That was amazing. I was just walking through the woods and came upon the giant open field that I often walk through. The sun was bright and glowing and feeding me, and day was warm and welcoming and bees were everywhere. I could hear a deep loud warming buzzing sound coming from the woods in one direction, and new there must be hundreds of thousands of them in that little area. I have never been that close to such a huge swarm. I watched a few deer leap across the field back and forth. After a few half-hearted lazy tai chi moves, I went on my way back on the path I had come from. I had a stick with branches that looked like deer antlers, and I plowed ahead up the hill, using the stick to avoid the mass of spider webs. I came across a few deer and stopped to look at them. One was about 15 feet away and just stared at me. I stood still and just felt like a natural inhabitant of the woods and was glad the deer didn't run from me. It came closer (a doe) to about 10 feet away and we just stared at each other and occasionally around at the woods for 10 minutes. A few crows flew by above and a giant hawk swooped down on a dead fallen tree about 20 feet away. Eventually it came to a closer tree 10 feet away and jumped on the ground and swooped a squirrel in the ass. It chased the squirrel around, jumping from tree stump to ground and back. Then it jumped on the ground right at my feet and chased the squirrel around in circles around me, occasionally stopping to rest. I have never been that close to a wild hawk before.

Flooding. It has been raining for a long time, with no end for perhaps another day. Our basement is flooded and the creak in our backyard is about 14 feet deep at the moment and flowing powerfully; it's close to coming up over the bridge. If that happens, we'll be kinda fucked. I have been putting off a meal so that I could move heavy stuff and hook up pumps for the last 4 or 5 hours. Food. Back to work.

What a great weekend. And what a beautiful day. Wind and sunshine. I love wind. Worked non-stop with a new band member all weekend from morning till night, in preparation for many upcoming performances. I stopped doing any drugs years ago, except for one on distant occasions. Smoked salvia divinorum with a few friends gathered in a circle around a choarcoal and incence. Memories. Memories. Memories.
I had the usual experience. My first words after exhaling are always the same. "I remember this!" and then I go into a state of complete amnesia in the 3rd dimensional state. It is as if I have been and am in each moment for an infinity of time and always have been. Reality as I knew it is not altered, it is gone immediately and without hesitation, without memory of it whatsoever, without a trace. But at the same time all of my feeling and memories of childhood come rushing back to me, with the sort of multidimensional perception a baby might have in their dreams. I can travel through time. I step through my memories backwards, through my dreams, my thoughts, my self, back to birth where there is a gateway to many gateways to anywhere in the universe.
Always that mix of pure amnesia mixed with pure anti-amnesia.
What did you guys do this weekend?

I actually love Thai and Indian food. But I took the name as a result of a random passoword assignment to my old work voicemail. I always thought it was kind of nifty and never bothered to change it out.
