Jenkies! Not having a computer was reallly inconvenient for a couple of days...Especially because I had a 12 page final paper to do. I got it done though! and 24 hours before it was due. I feel so proud of myself...and hella smart because this is definitely one of the best papers I've ever written. For those of you that know about juvenile delinquency prevention and treatment, I proposed that future studies should analyze the similarities in resiliance and morality, and their effect on juvenile drug use. Boo-yow. If that's not an A, I don't know what is.
Anyway...since it's hella days later, I've kinda lost the excitement from my Vegas post. Lol. So long story short, AJ was playing blackjack, and because I can't do mental math for shit, and was intimidated, I just wanted to watch. But the dude insisted that I play, so he put down a $10 bet for me. In an hour or so, I left the table with $100. The next day we went back to the Mandalay Bay casino, and AJ ended up winning a purple chip, which is $500, and I got another $175. I was stoked about winning that money. Especially since it was my first time gambling, lol. I was lucky enough to pay for the hotel room, the buffets, valet parking, and my Beatles Love shirt. Vegas is awesome! We got a free trip for 4 nights and 3 days (we gotta sit at one of those lame timeshare meetings, sorry to anyone who works in that business ), so we'll hopefully go back in December. We also have another free trip, so I'm sure we'll definitely be spending a lot of time in Vegas soon.
My great-grandmother Rouce died last night. I hadn't seen her in a while because she lived in Oklahoma, but she was a lovely, sweet woman. It seems as though she did live a very lengthy life though. She outlived her husband and my grandmother. I'm not exactly sure as to hold old she was, but I know my dad's side of the family has a life expectancy of 102.
Great-grandmother Rouce passing away has stirred up a lot of talk about our family, our history, and our ancestors. Talking to my dad today, he told me about his grandfather, who's mother was Choctaw Indian, and his grandfather's dad, who was German. I feel all extra slow, because I've been telling people the wrong information about my heritage for...all my life, lol. But hopefully sooner than later, my dad is going to research our lineage, so we can be put on the Choctaw scrolls. I can't wait for that to happen.
I also got a history review of the Trail of Tears, because the Choctaw were actually the first one's relocated. We got moved from Mississippi and Louisiana, to Oklahoma, which is why my family is there to this day. That's also why we've have a farm in Stroud, OK for decades. I also looked up this cemetery, Kingfisher in Oklahoma, and on the website, I was able to see all the Rouces that were buried there. Apparently it was a big deal because they moved my family from this little one row burial ground somewhere by Oklahoma City, to Kingfisher, and that is why I have 9 relatives buried there.
Anywhoooo, things are going well, unfortunately I can't go to Oklahoma because I have so much shit going on, like going back to school in a week . Im not thrilled about going back to school, especially because i'll be taking two more classes than I usually do, but it's all good because I'm going into my second year of grad school. Which means in 5 months, i'll be doooone ::dances::. I can't wait to be done with school...!
I gotta make an appt with my tattoo guy, Howard, asap. Now that I have a little bit more money, I can finish my piece in may one, but at the most two, sessions. It's going to be awesome to shoot again. I'll definitely be doing that soon tho, so yay, I can just sit back and enjoy until then.
Have a good night everybodyyyy
