Another Night
trapped in somebody else's
Dream of America
Another Night
surrounded by Houses
Identical to my Own
Another Night
surrounded by Families
Identical to my Own
Long Nights spent
in furniture cocoons
always together / always apart
Hours pass in rooms
where the only movement
comes from the flicker
of phosperescent Blue light;
tracing the reflections
of Sitcom Reality
across unblinking eyes.
Hours pass in rooms
where the only sound
is artificial Laughter,
echoing sickly sweet
along cracked Stucco Walls.
Outside My Window,
a mockingbird's song
splits still Suburban Air;
before fading into the sound
of distant traffic on the Freeway.
trapped in somebody else's
Dream of America
