Well, where to begin.
The beginning I suppose.

-I'd like to say that I'm all done with school and graduated and stuff, but the single class that's holding me back got canceled. The next reasonable time to take it doesn't start for another month.

-We've moved into our new place. We both like it rather a lot. In fact, the process of living with the...

I think it's probably more than just the internet. It seems to me like more and more people are willing to wear masks. Soon, the world will be one big masquerade, and costume shops will be the most lucrative businesses ever.

Here's my problem with Sicko. No, with Michael Moore. I have seen some of his work, and I have yet to see him do anything other than press HIS point. The only time I've seen him talk about the opposing viewpoint was very quickly, and very quietly.

The other problem I have is that people like to watch Michael Moore's films, and use it as the basis for their opinion. In that, people get intrigued by what Michael Moore has to say, but they don't look into it any more than what Mr. Moore tells them. Then when they talk about it with their friends, they can only quote Michael Moore which not only makes their argument weak, it weakens the entire viewpoint.

Oh yeah, and Michael Moore's tactics just REALLY annoy me.

I feel you about the reading for pleasure--it took me a year out of grad school to start it up again. So far I've read Miranda July's new book and some old fantasy books from the 80s called "The Borderlands."

So don't fear...you'll get your groove back.
biggrin

-Went to Roller Derby last night good times were had, as is usual.

-We found a house! It's a tad more money than we wanted to spend but it's also way more house than we wanted so I think that works out nicely. We start renting it the 15 of May. Hopefully I'll be finished up with all my finals and be ready to move...

This is shaping out to be a good month. Some of my favorite bands are playing here this month. I've got spring break coming up soon. Me and the girl look like we are going to get a place together when our leases are up. Hurray!
annamei:
wow, you and the girl are getting a place huh?!?! biggrin how exciting smile

Like many young Americans, I think Valentines day is made up and thus kind of don't like it. My girlfriend likes flowers and chocolate and will use nearly any lever she can to extract these precious delectables. The compromise? We're celebrating Arizona's birthday. Cowboy hats maybe involved.

sockpuppet:
1) Definition of "natural" comes into play.
1a) And consequent on that, my original point was (intended to be) that "natural" is not necessarily all that relevant to people; partly because people have their own ecology, which they have evolved over many generations. Some people would call that ecology "economics", I think, but I am not comfortable with that definition.
So I'm not very happy with "natural". It has its uses, but I think it's overrated (and culturally defined, often).
sockpuppet:
and 2), I left "war and the military and contingent technologies" off the list, for some reason I can't remember.
Big killers? Definitely.
Glorified? Yes.

Well, school's having me read a few hundred pages or so a week. Which I can handle (sorta). Since most of my fun free time activities require reading too, I fully expect my eyes to fall out by the end of the semester.

-The girl and I saw an animation thingy over at the Loft. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours....

I didn't play...I actually wasn't even there. I had a going-away party for my boss.
But I'll be there all weekend for the Dust Devil (our next event).

I'm not on the Tramps this year, since I'm writing my Master's thesis. That would be too much of a stresser on top of all the crap I already have to do to graduate!

Hope to see you at a game sometime!!! My team is opening the season against FTW (if we keep the schedule the same). Can't believe the season is right around the corner...oy!
dane_valek:
i have not heard of such a game. This intrigues me. Where would i find more info?

-I'm done with this semester finally. I did a big-ish paper on Honduras. Now, I'm sick of reading the word "banana."

-A good friend of mine is leaving for the circus this Wednesday (no really!) I'm a little bummed about that. But I'm also excited for her, she's been wanting to get out of town since forever ago.

-Ah, sweet sweet irony.

-I can't stop...

From the CE boards

Aww! "Fear the Reaper" forgot to take her tampon out. The little girl who has a man's name must be a cranky little childYeah little girl with silly world views crawl back into your own anus and stop expressing your self. Your breath stinks as does your writing.
The "reaper" should probaly choose a more appropreate name like "Teddy Ruxpin

Why...

I've had a pretty good weekend so far. I saw Borat and then followed it with an SG burlesque chaser. On balance both were awesome.

The recent election mostly went my way. Which I think is a first. The immigration stuff was a little disappointing, but not unexpected. The smoking thing makes me a little bit happy.

Cinnamon Altoids are I think god's own manna....

MODERN JONAH AWAKES TO FIND HIMSELF SEWED UP INSIDE A MULE'S CARCASS.

Young Harris GA. Dec 19 - Bart Brown, of Gum Log, this county, has just emerged from the unusual experience of being sewed up for six hours on the inside of a mules carcass. Yesterday Brown and other bibulous companions, after imbibing much moonshine whisky, were wending their wobbly ways homeward down the...

I dont think it will be an issue, but I'll let you know about that car pooling thing. it may be nice just to save on gas and parking.
dane_valek:
Yeah, I know. I realised that when I got out of bed the next morning... err... dragged myself out of bed.

Thanks for taking me up. We should do something like that, again.
